Mystro aka MysDiggi – ‘Mystrogen’ review

In Blog,Enjoy the Music,Featured,Mysdiggi,Mystro,Recommended by Party Rocker / September 10, 2012 / 0 Comments

Whooooooaaaaa… feels great buying an album by an artist you really like and relate to .. now I have just experienced buying an album by an artist I love and feel related to.

Mystrogen has been in the making for a while… the build up has been masterfully managed by the man MysDiggi himself and guess what..! He is the man behind the whole thing.

Mystro That Rush Mystrogen

Mystro ‘That Rush’

Not since Blade with his debut album ‘Lion Goes From Strength to Strength’ have I known of an artist be in control from it’s mere beginnings to it’s entrance onto the market as a full blown release. OK, it is true that these days there are more avenues to travel down to get your product out there, but if you gas it up and then do everything else in a very amateur way (release a bag of shit and have a fan base of 2, one being you and the other your Mum), then that in eyes of people that understand, is not the full blown release of an artist who hasn’t stopped pushing since he started.

See, these days everybody thinks, and can be, an artist. The internet is full of people talking it up, full of profiles on music platforms where after uploading some 2 bit effort they get their brothers and sisters to leave comments like “Oh MC Carbon Copy this is unbelievable” .. yes, you are right, unbelievably shit.

Mystro is a beast of a spitta and writer, a craftsman and super tight performer who has had minimal help in the way other lame ass UK rap artists have, which I know can be hard to handle when you put more effort in than these people, but the beauty in this instance is that Mys has stuck to giving us what we should be hearing, that in itself will always take longer to absorb into the sponge like brains of people because good hip-hop isn’t as salable as cheesy bag o crap pop music so the money trains don’t back it. But I do feel all his efforts have lead to this point and big BIG things are just around the corner for my homey.

Back with the program

Mystro Mysdiggi MystrogenSo the album is Mystrogen (like oxygen but you need it a whole lot more says the Mystro), a 15 track Debut Album (everything before has been a player of the extended kind), which was released at the turn of 10th September on iTunes (£6.99), and other leading download sites with the CD (£7.99), available from the 25th September (order here).

I have just purchased the soundtrack to the ever changing summer because no matter where you are in a chain you support, when someone puts there all in you support, when the man behind the mic is your friend .. you support (you get my drift). In buying MysDiggi’s first album you are treated to content from Si Spex, Mr. Thing, Black Einstein, Homeboy Sandman, Daniel Debourg, Thomas Jules, Junior Reed, Thor, Xavier Barnett, Lloyd Brown, Show n Prove and some. The artwork is right up there too, the matching capsules on the albums first release ‘That Rush’ and it’s parent in audio ‘Mystrogen’ is so good you feel the need to grab a glass of water, take a capsule between thumb and index finger and then swallow to see where this new drug takes you.

I urge you reader to watch the ‘Mystrogen Sample Video by CLICKING HERE‘, then do yourself and @MysDiggi a great favour… GO BAG SOME MYSTROGEN TODAY.

MysDiggi – Cockadoodledoo

In Blog,FREE Music,Mysdiggi,Mystro by Party Rocker / June 24, 2012 / 0 Comments

I have waited a few weeks to write about my friends new release named Cockadoodledoo simply because I wanted to sit back and see what effect it had on a society full of music lovers. Well it has had an effect and there are even people callin’ for a full video to compliment the hard hitting and truthful lyrics.

I heard this when it was just an idea, the production was rough and it was low in quality but I knew as soon as I listened to it that it was not only the right way for Mystro to come back as MysDiggi but the lyrical content is something new and different for the maestro MysDiggi.

Covering everything that is wrong with a scene built on morals way back in the day and people united in taking the Hip-Hop art form forward brother Mys pulls no punches and from the off lets all know that ‘Only the Offenders Should be Offended’. Promoters, artists and bloggers get it in the neck … marketers and media folks too .. basically everybody that has helped Hip-Hop sink to new lows which have resulted in Hip-Hop losing it’s identification and has seen people of the scene do anything for money and trinkets while downgrading the quality of their work… seen promoters ignore the true Hip-Hop talent that is around today simply because they can make more money out of 2 bit artists who are happy to be bent over and shafted up the arse so the boss man can make shit loads of coin out of them. DJ’s who have allowed themselves to be brainwashed by managers to spin all the shitty “Hip-Hop” and tell everyone ‘this is a banger .. get on this UK’ when deep down they know it’s proper dog shit and that there is REAL UK talent out there pushing boundaries that they ‘won’t help because it won’t line their bank accounts with electronic digits’.

Hip Hop Better Wake Up and it better do so fast, nobody is doing any favours for the beautiful art form which makes the world a more colourful place while they are happy to bum the mediocre next man because it puts cushions on their couch or tuna in their cats belly.

I need say no more .. watch the video and listen to the words, damn they’re even displayed large on the screen for you… start to think again and make some changes, bring it back to where it came from and give it a meaning and purpose in life.

Welcome back brother, keep teaching and stay mad at the world, stick with dirty beats and rhyme on time like no other.

Mystro hints at Retirement

In Blog,Mystro,News by Party Rocker / May 18, 2012 / 0 Comments

You know sometimes it takes the death of an artist who helped create the blueprint of a genre to make you sad, heartbroken or even shed a tear.. MCA of the Beastie Boys and more recently Donna Summer.

Mystro aka MysDiggi

Mystro aka MysDiggi

But sometimes even the news of a retirement can sink a fond heart… I don’t want to go into any kind of detail or fabricate in any way because it’s not what I do, I only relay facts and thoughts from within. I’m more a celebrator of people and their creative achievements and endeavors.

So without going into too much detail I want to let people know that from what has been written and read on the Twitter feed of ‘Mystro aka MysDiggi’, the news is that the groundbreaking underground artist has stepped away from live shows which could mean we hear no more new material and see no more videos.

If like many you never saw him perform live which in turn meant you didn’t see how this professional mic controller worked a crowd, then I really do feel that you have missed an innovator at work. From his ‘Mystro Investigates’ series, to his 3 ‘UK Rap Up’ offerings and the number of great releases & videos you can see at the website www.mysdiggi.com. Mystro has grafted and grinded for some years, giving his all to the UK scene, making a great name in Australia and doing virals for the likes of Blackberry, telling it like it is on the BBC Breakfast Show when the London riots were on and working within the scene to make it great.

I could go on dragging details from Wikipedia and other places but that just ain’t me. I’m a DJ who loves nothing but good music, a man who has been fortunate enough to spin for Mystro on a couple of occasions, a person who has found a great friend in Mysdiggi over the last few years.

I wear my heart on my sleeve as they say and I don’t mind saying in public that I will miss my friend if the last gig he did was to be his final involvement in the this here game that is Hip-Hop… I seriously hope it wasn’t but if so then I hope that fans of music keep buying his material, watching his videos and clocking up the views because Mystro has been setting a standard for a long time… all you MC’s need to recognise.

It was only the other day when my man Chief Wigz said to me in conversation regarding performing for a crowd “it’s like when Mystro comes on… you know he’s on .. the atmosphere changes”. That is the performer I know and love, he deserves greatness but without respect, support and the right doors opening a performer will only take it so far.

I love you brother Mys’, be happy and I will be in touch when the dust settles
