Spida Lee – Fuck You (produced by Brutal Artistry)

I’m back once again with some real original dopeness…

Spida Lee comes out pullin’ no punches with ‘FUCK YOU’. Brilliantly produced by Brutal Artistry with the video professionally created and glued together by BadLOOK Media.

Now, before you click play let me take you back a little way to a film called ‘Judgement Night’ which starred Emilio Estevez, Cuba, Denis Leary, Everlast and the mighty Jeremy Piven. Why? Because aside of the movie being dynamite the soundtrack which coupled it was something of a giant allowing the likes of De La Soul, Cypress Hill, Ice-T, Onyx and many more collaborating with metal/grunge bands Teenage Fanclub, Biohazard, Pearl Jam and other similar mighty rockers.

The coupling of these artists and bands helped build on something which was molded when RUN DMC and Aerosmith  got together to unleash Walk This Way on the unsuspecting public of the world, but it took it one step further and broke that mold by making the music harder so it remained underground.

Spida and Brutal Artistry collide in the same fashion… bringing a sound which is hard and original.

3215727775-1Spida Lee is a man built on real Hip-Hop foundations, the man has been and seen, he is influenced by everything I grew up listening to and drew inspiration from… great artists who came from the streets with hunger, desire and creativity driving them forward. He recognises that he has something, something different which will always see him standing tall even though his puffer jacket hugged frame is somewhat small. Mr. Lee also has good bones at his core, he’s a really nice guy who fills any room with jumped up party vibes even before he picks up a mic.

I saw a really cool side of Spida in 2012 which I really related to. Spida Lee, like me, gives fellow artists the kudos they deserve no matter where he gets to and no matter what his age may be. The moment I am referring to is when Mystro aka MysDiggi ventured up to play the launch party for The Country Gent opening. I was on the phone with him and he said ‘Thank you for putting me on, being on the same billing with Mystro is a massive honor’.

A massive honor… this from a man who has had a lengthy career himself, an artist breaking barriers and staying on the road of originality. I urge you all to not only watch the video where you see Spida representing West Yorkshire in a very different way but look into Carricou Jack’s back catalogue over at Don’t Talk To Strangers .. now .. go on.

Verbal Contact feat. Left Leberra – Get Stoned

Picture it if you will… I’m sat in the car after going for a swim with my young family and I shake the iPhone into action, first job, Twitter .. second tap Facebook, and my club running brother Tony Green has posted on my Facebook Wall. Now to those who know, my wall is fitted with anti-spam grease which helps crap slide into the pit of shit which it deserves to dwell in… but this .. this video .. well, this is something else, this is a video which is too much for some walls, too much for some eyes in fact.

Verbal Contact - Get Stoned

Verbal Contact – Get Stoned

When I say I could ramble on forever it is an understatement. The detail, the effort, the smoke holes, the crisps crunched into the carpet, the Famous WY logo above the club, the car with the VW sign shining, the Sedgwick Avenue poster .. and all that within the first minute and a half, plus add to this the lookalike puppets (and they do look like these brothers from Leeds, West Yorkshire), and you start to get a feel for the time it has taken to not only make the video but the effort in planning it’s layout and creating the puppets, the pieces and parts for the miniature landscape and more … this is creativity on a whole new level.

For too long there has been video after video after video where the tune plays on and the stars of the show stand comfortably in front of the camera, rapping and rhyming their way through to the end… the latest video from my brother Mury P (‘Fuck You All’), kind of put a stop to that in a way, superb editing which incorporated humour and an amazing collaboration between producer, lyricist and DJ, but this video takes the underground Hip-Hop scene in the UK to a whole different level… such a level that the lift in Hip-Hop Towers needs a man to come round and add numbers to its touch pad.

Check this too, the track is produced by a man you know I champion, Sonar Cousin, and he hasn’t even been mentioned in this post yet. Neither have Matter, Prys and Left Leberra who make up this line-up under the title of Verbal Contact. The release is out on the super solid ‘Don’t Talk To Strangers‘ label who release the album ‘Blue In The Face’ very soon. William J Child & Sam Aminzadeh shoot and edit this amazing video and my WY cap is doffed in your direction dudes, great .. sorry, amazing job done.

So does the video warrant me to go on, yes, should I go on and bore you with iddy biddy details .. no. But, I do want to finish with this paragraph.

Dear London artists, there are so many of you down there (around 99% of you), who don’t know how to pick up the musket and scram. You have had a hold of this UK scene for a long time, but the scene up t’North is not only more mature, but has now eclipsed anything you have to throw into the Hip-Hop cauldron. There is a movement based in West Yorkshire which is running with such professionalism, such style and with the greatest strength in depth that you have nothing to compare to this pocket of talent right now which is tucked up in bed with self sustaining independent record labels who are putting their faith in the mature writers and rhymers, the best battle MC bar none, game raising producers, photographers and videographers smashing it on the filming and editing side, and then there’s the WY and Boisht clothing brands and stand out artist/designer Eject who is literally making his mark worldwide. So London artists, you have nowhere to run to and nowhere to hide… you have had your time, your number has been called and your boat has come in, may the last artist who disembarks turn the light off.

Mury P feat. DJ esSDee ‘Fuck You All’

Before I start going into the happenings which helped create one of the best video, beat, scratch and audio collabo’s this beautiful country has ever spawned I think we should all bow a head and pour a drop of liquor from a 40 to my homey and brother Mury P on his 32nd Birthday. Step up you crazy curled mother and take a bow .. I hope you’ve recovered from your amazing surprise Birthday BBQ because I haven’t…

OK on with the show;

Mury P 'Fuck You All' feat. DJ esSDee | Produced by Pheend Supreme

This is the video to raise the game for all other videos coming from the so called underground. The company Bad LOOK Media, which is owned by the main man in this video (some would say that to be me with the closing scene), have brought out a video which could possibly put a few human beings 6 feet under due to the amount of flashes, stammers and blatant use of profanity in the form of ‘FUCK YOU’, which all usually come with a warning (people beware there are flashes and things).

Before watching the video it would be easy to think that there is no need for all of this… and I do understand that .. but I know and understand where the lyrics come from with this angry man and his ripped up heart which is controlled by a head that’s as tangled on the inside as it is on the outside.. I have been, and in some cases still am.. there, we all are sometimes but the level depends on the torture you have been dished out along the way and some ride a wave that never crashes while others live on a crashing wave.

Only when someone comes into your life to steady the ship and who helps you believe again can you get out the anger and let it leave instead of letting it out because it’s part of survival, I mean who knows.. at this rate the MZA may bring out his LL Cool J love song persona for us all to see.

So without further ado the real reason why I’m writing and you are reading is for some factual shit about the video, well apart from telling you who got in on the act when putting it together I am leaving it there, there really isn’t much to say apart from it was a pleasure to be involved, a pleasure to put the dope cuts on and a pleasure to work with my brother from another nutsack Mury P. He has some big cogs turning right now so all better watch and follow some of his moves otherwise the rest are going to be looking for careers stacking shelves, getting old and saying ‘I did this in 2012 but couldn’t keep up with the King’. I know I was involved and the closing scene is to be legendary but this is one of the dopest pairings of tune and video that you’ll experience this year.

Check these comments from around Facebook and Twitter:

Josh Ashton – Big track!

Liam Fitzpatrick – Like one of the comments says, Just like 90′s stuff. Tune my man.

Lucy Hall – Really like the comment about the west Yorkshire version of the Beastie boys. Great tune.

Ben Reilly Cunningham – If only the youth of today could make tunes like this. At least I won’t look so old now. When I use the line “In my day music was…..” Cos the day just started again. Nice drop of old skool with a good bit of comedy in the video. Legendary!

Ryan Maxwell – I wish I had stopped the video 5 seconds before the end. Sick music though man about to blog great work on the camera from Bad Look and Major Kuts & Chimpink as always. Disgusting beat from Pheend Supreme I love every element of this.

Again we come to a release from the busiest label (in UK Hip-Hop at the very least).

Mury P 'Fuck You All' feat. DJ esSDee | Produced by Pheend Supreme

Mury P 'Fuck You All' feat. DJ esSDee | Produced by Pheend Supreme

The AA side to ‘Where it’s Heading‘ (which I have made you all aware of before HERE), has been named ‘Fuck You All’ and features myself with Pheend Supreme on production.

Mury P, my curly brother from another nutsack, lyrically brings it double fuck you style with this release… the first time I heard it after being asked to supply the cuts for it I was like ‘damn this is gonna reverberate all round planet earth and even the solar system’.

Knowing the amazing past of Mury I really connect with the lyrics even more now but for people not in the know trust me, this will still hit home.

You can download the FREE release now at www.DTTSRecords.com and when I tell you the video (filmed by Major Kuts and edited/created by Bad Look Media), is going to be mad, you can’t even prepare your eyes for what you are going to see… stuff legends are made of.

Mury P Feat Atko – Where Its Heading (Produced by Melph) Official Video

In Blog by Party Rocker / May 17, 2012 / 0 Comments

Man ‘Don’t Talk to Strangers’ ain’t sleeping at all…

Up Popp’s Mury P .. the MZA, the DZA .. the old curly bastard… with a totally disturbing method, man don’t know ‘Where It’s Heading’.

Mury P Where it's Heading Don't Talk to Strangers

Mury P Where it's Heading feat. Atko

Blood baths and muddy boots, leaves, trees and an unsuspecting victim just taking a stroll. Unbeknownst to this wandering dude is that the internal hate and anguish that lives inside Mury P is gonna have him hung, drawn and cut into quarters.

Raising a bar, telling a tale and all put together in classic black ‘n’ white footage… the man himself has edited the video which is impressive and a true hands on ‘I know what it’s gotta look like’ statement. This new material (from a dude who is like the brother with matching curly hair that I never got), is his baby. Dragged from the depths of a tortured yet vibrant soul, a sick and just about stable human being walking the tightrope of insanity. Listening only makes you question whether it is us missing something… so if you find reality a little hard to handle .. turn away now.

Kind of fitting then you will agree, that his next single is called ‘Fuck You All’ (and features myself, it’s BiG).

Let’s not forget the people who have made this project work: Featuring: Atko | Producer: Melph | Shot By: Major Kuts & Chimpink | Directed & Edited By: BadLook Media | Label: Don’t Talk To Strangers | Taken from the forthcoming EP ‘Corporal Mortification’.
